On Sunday the French arrived in Busto Arsizio and here’s the photo of the whole group inside the school’s hall. The project started on Monday.
The week’s topic was “sustainable architecture” which means building respecting the environment using green energy and sustainable materials. To be prepared on this subject we saw some examples in Milan, Castellanza and Busto Arsizio. In Busto Arsizio we visited the Textile’s Musesum, Villa Ottolini Tosi and Villa Tovaglieri. In Castellanza we went on a tour of the LIUC University, but Milan was the most important example of sustainability with the famous Piazza Gae Aulenti, the Unicredit skyscraper, Porta Nuova, Piazza della Scala, Vittorio Emanuele arcade and the Duomo. Most of these buildings are sustainable because they either used sustainable materials to build them or use green energy like solar panels and plants on the balconies and on the roof in order to keep comfortable temperatures.
